This is why our church tell the youth to obtain as much education as possible. It is however,good honest work. The world needs someone who can build the bridge as well as design it. The cable pictured here is 4 inches in diameter and weighs about 42 lbs per foot. Thats why my muscles are hard and my back is sore. The wire rope line shown here has a working load limit of 260,000 lbs. It would take at least 6 times that weight to break it but for safeties sake it's rated at a 5 to 1 design factor.
I have done some work on the new Narrows bridge, so remember that when you're about to cross the new span and begin wishing you had taken the ferry.
